Hello and welcome to the Telve di sopra Vineyard newsletter addition number 6! We’re trying hard to keep this rolling along. We hope you enjoy what we have to share!

Whats New?
It’s about time that we got a Wine Club!!! No really, it’s about all the time it takes to run a business and farm a vineyard. Finally we have a wine club and it going to be a lot of fun. It’s reasonably priced and you can check it out here: Telve di sopra Vineyard Wine Club
In The Vineyard
Spring has sprung and at the time of writing this newsletter it’s almost the start of summer! Well pruning was completed, well sort of.
We’ve been busy with mowing, weed whacking , removing suckers from the vine trunks, spraying our organic sprays, and shoot thinning. Man, I forget every year how fast the weeds grow. A little about the weeds, a lot of different legumes are growing, several types of clover, and a few types of vetch as well. Not as many wild radishes this year, but there’s an abundance of wild carrots (Queen Ann’s Lace). Theres between 20 to 25 different types of plants growing amongst the vines!
We’re seeing more flower buds than ever before, hopefully this will translate into a large crop, but we won’t know until after flowering when fruit set-happens sometime in early July.
The weather has been amazing, so keeping our fingers crossed for possibly the best year ever!

In The Winery
Not a-lot to report here except we bulldogged six barrels of Pinot Noir (used nitrogen gas to push the wine out of a barrel) up a level to the main winery floor to get it ready form bottling. When we do bottle the wine we will gravity feed it back down to the barrel storage room and into the bottle filling machine, hopefully soon. Dam weeds!

Finally, some more progress!!!
We passed the final plumbing inspection! Now we need to finish the last wall of the kitchen, install the vent for the convection oven and hook up all the sinks. We are also working on the new required landscaping as dictated by Kitsap County, who knew dirt and rocks could be so expensive!

Wild Life Sightings
The turkey vultures appeared for a short period of time, it’s pretty ominous watching 10 or so fly in circles up high above your head. Not as many finches this year, also the flocks of doves that are always here have moved on to somewhere else. We seen several snakes hanging out on the fruiting canes of the vines sunning themselves and eating bugs I assume. Lots of little green frogs to help keep things in balance, because we do not use pesticides.
End of the Day…
I need to apologize for the rambling newsletter that we previously sent, I’d be surprised if any of you read the whole letter! Hopefully this one is a better and happier read.
Things are looking up, after all it’s about the time we have, which is never enough , but it’s what we do with that time that is important. Enjoy your time everyone!
